There is no rose of such virtue

SSAA a cappella

This floating, ethereal new setting of There is no rose is the most modern music in the collection. Its major/minor dualities and twists are reminiscent of John Tavener's quiet masterpiece, The Lamb. Since this piece slides in and out of modal inflections I have gone beyond the usual notational rules for sharps, flats, and naturals, and have provided plenty of cautionary markings to dispel any doubt about the exact identity of pitches.
